The SL500 swimming watch counts your lengths with a reliability of over 95%, using sensors that are sensitive to movements. It gives you your distance in number of lengths or metres covered. For a more accurate reading, swim with a regular stroke and avoid stopping multiple times during the same length as well as any movements that could cause interference.
The SL500 watch measures butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and front crawl lengths over full lengths in 25, 33 and 50m pools. After each turn, it gives you the total distance, in metres or in number of lengths.
The SL500 watch fits wrist diameters of between 13 cm and 20 cm.

I was looking for a watch that could keep track of my distance whilst swimming as I was finding myself occasionally loosing count. Most of the watches are around the £200 mark which is about the same as what I pay to use the pool for the year so this one seemed more in my price range. Setting it up was simple but unfortunately it just isn't any good at tracking distance. I swim about 1250 metres per session. The first time I used it was behind by about 150. The second time it was over by about 175. I continued using it hoping it just needed to be broken in. The forth time I used it it was 275 metres over what I had swam! With that, I do not recommend it.
Idid everything right but it just wont count laps,it did halfway through swim then stopped.Also i saw a tom cruise film where he disarmed a nuclear bomb, it was easier than trying to follow this watches instructions,and im an electronic technician! sending it back.
