UV protection standards for hats and caps are very specific: The fabric must of course be anti-UV (UPF50+ rating), but this is not enough to claim the finished product is anti-UV. The headwear also needs to protect the back of the neck and there must be no visible openwork fabric through which the sun's rays can penetrate. This Trek 900 cap meets this standard so you can go hiking with complete peace of mind: you are perfectly protected!
The product is machine washed 3 times then line dried, then we immerse it in water and measure how long it takes to get back to its pre-wash weight. This cap scored an impressive 5 out of 5 stars, returning to its pre-washed weight less than 80 minutes!
