Two sizes only for this kid’s hat with elastic at the back to adapt to the head and keep the hat firmly on. 2XS: 46 to 48 centimetres head circumference (1-3 years approx.) XS : 49 to 51 centimetres head circumference (3-5 years approx.)
Protection for children
Baby’s skin is very sensitive to the sun, because infants’ defence systems only become effective after the age of 3. For identical exposure, the effects of the sun are 2 to 3 times stronger on a child than on an adult. It is therefore important to protect them effectively.
What does upf 50+ mean?
UPF is a sun protection factor (Ultra Violet Protection Factor) and is standardised worldwide. It defines the protection level of a fabric and more precisely the proportion of UV rays it lets through. To meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 95% of UVA and 98% of UVB rays.
How should you behave in the sun?
Although this hat provides protection from the sun, other factors such as reflections (from water, sand, etc.), heat, time of day, and so on, must be taken into account. Wearing this hat does not exempt the wearer from following the relevant advice: wear sunglasses, regularly apply suitable sun cream, wear a UV protection top or shorty suit, stay hydrated, etc.

Daughter loves it.
This is such a great sun hat for my 9 month old baby. She can see well from underneath the brim and it gives great protection all round. I really like the way the rear part of the brim drapes over her shoulders- a brilliant design feature. The easily adjustable strap stops her from taking it off but she doesn’t seem to mind wearing it anyway so it must be comfy! The pattern is very pretty too and reversible. Thank you Decathlon- you thought of everything!
