Pitching and dismantling
Traditional pitching and dismantling with poles. Follow the instructions stitched into the product’s cover. We recommend that 2 people pitch the tent.
Sun protection
The roof fabric has UPF 30 sun protection.Caution: be careful, as a large amount of UV rays can get in through a simple open door.
Ventilation
Three sides have an opening for better air flow. Each of the openings has a mosquito net to prevent insects from getting inside.
Wind resistance
We test all our living rooms in a wind tunnel on a turntable. The goal is to expose each side of our living room to the same wind intensity.Properly pitched, with the guy ropes deployed, this living room remains habitable in wind speed 6, measured at 50 km/h.
Waterproof and taped seams
We test our living rooms to validate their waterproofing. The first test is done in the laboratory, 3 hours under 200 litres of water per hour per sqm, equivalent to 200 mm tropical rain per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams. This living area is fitted with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet measuring 2,000 mm. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 140 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet.
Repair
As designers and practitioners who love our playground, we care about the durability of our products. That's why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and repairs for inflatable hoops are available at the workshop of your Decathlon store or on our website.
Poles and tent pegs
Poles - All our poles are made from fibreglass and undergo double quality checks. This guarantees some of the best resistance against breakage.Tent pegs - All our pegs are made of steel and have a diameter of 6 mm.
Maintenance advice
Our camping living rooms have been designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) when camping or in the great outdoors. Continued exposure to UV rays over several weeks can damage the fabric. These products are not classified as “garden furniture” and aren’t designed to be left outdoors permanently. To guarantee maximum durability for your camping living room, it's important to store it when not in use.
Product Reviews
I have been using one of these medium base shelter for over 5 years, while working at festivals, most weekends through the summer. This sheltervm is easy to put up, once the material has stretched to get the pins into the poles, and quick to take down amd fold. The windows and doors all have fly nets and covers. The whole back can open up to make a large entrance, or handy to put next to a your vehicle to make an awning. The built in ground sheet gives it a tent feeling, rather than a shelter and I use it as an cooking space, spate bedroom and storage. It is water proof, windproof and has survived many storms where more expensive ones have collapsed. After 5 years it still going strong, but might invest in a new one soon.
The good first -it looks good and works OK as an awning with micro camper. Like the windows and the door. Size of the rear door on model 2 is too wide for my van. The bad -I have camped for over 35 years would say I can put most things up without instructions or too much bother. But it's like the poles are too long to get into the pin at the bottom. Two of us both very experienced campers really struggled to get the pin in the final two poles. Was so disappointed. As I solo camp and don't think I could put this up. Guy ropes are flimsy not enough pegging down points. It's the UK often wind and rain. Overall it could be a great product. It's a nice size. Like the shape windows and door to the front. But it's too difficult to erect like the poles are too long. I only put it up one night for a quick overnighter. Was easy to come down and pack away into the bag. But I regret buying it. Feel like I wasted 130 as I can't see me wanting to go through pain of erecting it. As I bought online from debenhams I couldn't even return it. Shame. Size is perfect. Love the windows and door. Should make an air version of it. It would be popular.
Bought this tent to dump our kit in while away in our campervan. It's packs away relatively small and light. Quick to erect and dismantle. Recommended.
