Water repellency
A quality achieved by applying a hydrophobic, water repellent treatment to a fabric. This process prevents water from sticking to the fabric\'s surface, thus limiting the latter\'s ability to absorb water. When movement is added to the equation, water runs off the fabric. This is what is meant by water repellent. Thanks to its water repellent properties, water does not soak into the outer fabric. The trousers remain light and dry more quickly.
Windproof
Wind protection is very important because of the significant chill effect that wind can have on the body, whether you are active or at rest. According to the \"windchill\" model, which measures how the air temperature feels when factoring in the wind & cold: At a temperature of 5°C combined with winds of 30km/h, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C & wind speed is 30km/h, the temperature felt will be -6°C. The materials used help to counter the chilling effects of the wind

Comfortable fit for my son who wore them on a recent hike, worn and washed since purchased. Ideal for current (Scottish) weather conditions!
My son is a wheelchair user and finds his lap gets very wet when it's rainy. These trousers have been ideal for him. They're not plasticy like some waterproof / water resistant clothing. They're also warm enough to cope with Scottish weather but still breathable. We bought more of them because he wants to wear them every school day - whether they're outside at school or not! They also have great thigh pockets (again, great for wheelchair users!) that are big enough for my son's phone. Highly recommend!
