Gaëtan, the evadict product manager, tells the story behind the 15 l ultra-trail running bag:
We wanted a bag that'll take you to the end of your trails in complete safety and that can carry all your mandatory gear. We took our customers' opinions into account, for instance adding the smartphone pocket. We designed it for ultra-trail, the most demanding category there is. Then we did two series of protocolled tests, which yielded excellent results. We're proud of this product, we spent a lot of time working on its stability, compartmentalization and accessibility.
Product Reviews
This is a great pack for longer runs where you need to take kit. However when I used this with soft flasks in the front pouches, it creates lots of movement when running and the shoulder straps rub on my neck leaving it very red and sore. Will need to look for a top to protect my neck or only use the bladder in the back. What a shame
This bag didn’t last 5 minutes sadly. The stitching came apart at the seams. Not fit for purpose and I am returning.
Have been using this regularly for 8 months now and although I really want to like it I keep falling out with it. The chest buckles are too small and fiddly and very difficult to use if fingers are cold which in the UK is most of the time. The whole pack sits very high on the body which is comfortable to wear, but means I struggle to actually see what is in any of the pockets and I have to do everything by feel. Not ideal if I want, say, a particular food item. The rear mesh pocket is useless, it's too loose to risk holding anything of value (e.g. a jacket) and impossible to reach whilst wearing the pack. The lower waist pockets which I presume are meant for food aren't particularly deep and things just fall out as soon as you open them. The phone pocket and the soft flask pocket are very good and easy to access, as are the other pockets on the shoulder straps. The larger main pockets also hold kit well and have useful inner pockets to separate various kit as required. I have frequently used the pack in conjunction with a quiver for my poles. The quiver is again near useless in situations where you don't want to stop and faff, the drawstring gets caught up in the pack straps and the quiver and poles don't sit properly if you have a fairly full pack. It would be far better if the pack had a properly integrated solution for storing poles. Such a shame as on paper it sounds like a good pack but given I have to take it off to access most things, and the clips are so small and fiddly, a lightweight rucksack with proper clips is a much better option for speed of accessing kit.
