The importance of the cushioning
To give you optimal comfort and performance when running, we concentrated our attention on the sole which features 2 concepts:- K-Ring: a ring located in the heel to improve cushioning at the rear and spread the shockwave in order to provide effective protection for the body: joints, back, knees, etc.- Kalensole: improves cushioning by 34% and propulsion by 25% compared with standard foam and lasts up to 1,000 km.
The comfort of the kd 500
In order to run regularly over long distances, foot comfort is of the utmost importance.So, we tried to improve the level of comfort with the following:- an ultra comfortable 'half-slipper' upper- enhanced cushioning at the forefoot thanks to a thicker sole- a revised forefoot area- a seamless, single piece of fabric to reduce friction
Rebound with each stride
So that you can make progress and improve your personal best times from 10 km to the marathon distance, the KIPRUN KD 500 improves propulsion (acceleration) with each stride thanks to the sole geometry combined with the Kalensole foam padding.

Excellent road-holding ability on wet roads and bends
Our sole is designed like a car tyre for running performance without losing control in wet conditions.The new sole geometry combined with a new rubber component gives the KIPRUN KD 500 excellent grip on wet ground, even when running at top speed.

In this way, we choose the components, create the prototypes and test and validate the products with laboratory and field tests.

They are not cushioned enough for running in.
I love decathlon footwear and have repeat bought myself running trainers from here however this pair with less than 200 miles has worn through black part of the sole already. I will struggle to get the 400 miles I normally get out of decathlon trainers and for 70 pounds and 9 weeks wear I am very disappointed. Everything else is great about them so it’s a shame they won’t last!
